NFL Draft Thoughts

I thought this year's COVID-19 pandemic version of the NFL draft was great.  I didn't watch it all, but I watched enough of it to be impressed with how much I liked it.  I am not sure if that is a result of not being able to watch any live sports for the past 2 months...I don't think that was it because outside of The Master's, I really don't watch much sports in the spring.  I think it may be what it wasn't, not so much of what it was.  It wasn't pandemic, it wasn't Netflix, Hulu or Prime.  Maybe, it was the slight feeling of normalcy and the hope that football will be available in the fall. Maybe it was seeing the coaches, GMs, and players in their homes and around their families or pets.  I can tell you for sure that it wasn't listening to Mel Kiper Jr.  I like the guy, but after three days, his voice, cadence, and vocabulary all begin to annoy.

My favorite pick of the draft was the Chief's first round selection of Clyde Edwards-Helaire out of LSU.  I fell in love with this guy during their game versus Alabama.  I thought he was the difference maker in that game and played a substantial role in the championship game against the Clemson Tigers.  Paring him up with Mahomes, Hill, and Reid is going to be the most exciting offense in the NFL.
