Bernie

Bernie Sanders announced this past week that he is officially out of the presidential race. Thank goodness!!! I never been a Bernie fan much like I have never been a Trump supporter, and for similar reasons.  Behind Bernie's socialist facade is a narcissistic and envious man. Whereas Trump tends to be narcissist and greedy. It is worthy to note the difference between envy and greed. Where greed produces and urge collect and selfishly hold onto resources, envy produces the urge to take other's resources to satisfy yourself.   Both of which lead to a life unfulfilled and many other personal and inter personal issues.

Back to Bernie. I have always thought his shtick was sophomoric and intellectually immature.  It was essentially "Those people have more stuff than they need, and we need to take it away so we have stuff." Obviously he says a bit more articulate than that, but that is his underlying argument.  Unfortunately, it appeals to a very primal and childish emotion. As a father of three daughters, I cant tell you how many times are children argued over the distribution and use of resources.  Fights happened when one would play with a toy and was having fun, immediately the other saw the fun she was having and attempted to take the toy. Cue the cries and pushing and screaming. Bernie's whole ideology centers around this envy.

But here is the deal, that is the problem with socialism. Its core tenet is envy. Marx, the father of socialist and communist thought, much like Bernie never held a job but was basically an intellectual.  In my opinion, his criticism toward capitalism had less to do with promoting workers than it did to attack the new bourgeoisie. His contempt of the capitalist was that they were becoming wealthier and more influential than he, who was smarter and more worthy. Lenin's contempt for the Tsar was personal and his goal was to take his power, not to create workers paradise, but have the power he had always craved. Same goes for Mao, Che, and Castro.  They were envious of power wealth, and influence.

Bernie's career has never been about making policy decisions that improve lives of Americans. It has always been about him. Sure, he may believe in those policies, but they are just a means to an end
